Stay Alert

Dear brother reader, speaking of a global crisis no longer sounds like breaking news; we know that we have been allotted a moment in history where the enemy attacks in a more subtle and surprising manner. That is why, now more than ever, we must sharpen our spiritual sensors to see around the bend. 1 Peter 5:8-9 exhorts us to be sober-minded and alert, for the enemy—the devil—prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. The Bible warns us not to be ignorant of the devil's schemes, lest he take advantage of us (2 Corinthians 2:11).
1 Peter 4:12 advises us not to be surprised by the "fiery trial" that comes to test our faith—as if it were something strange—but rather to rejoice in sharing in Christ's sufferings.
The Importance of Being Alert (Real-World Perspective)
In the United States, a lack of alertness—encompassing distracted driving, driving while fatigued, or driving under the influence of substances—is the underlying cause of most of the traffic and workplace accidents. Approximately 90% of traffic accidents in the U.S. are linked, at least in part, to human error—including inattention.
In 2023, 3,275 people died in accidents involving distracted drivers, accounting for approximately 8% of all traffic fatalities nationwide. Distraction remains a constant, high-risk factor—which is simply another way of saying: not being alert.
OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) estimates that human error (NOT BEING ALERT) is responsible for between 80% and 90% of serious workplace accidents. Statistics (2026) on this subject indicate that among the most common distracting behaviors are drinking a beverage while driving (79%), reaching for objects inside the vehicle (69%), adjusting the GPS (69%), and sending text messages or using a cell phone (cited by more than 10–13% in surveys).
Unfortunately, the highest-risk group consists of young drivers aged 15 to 19, who represent the demographic with the highest proportion (8%) of fatal accidents caused by distracted driving. However, regarding the age group most prone to distraction, drivers aged 25 to 34 accounted for 23% of all distracted drivers involved in fatal accidents.
Although the total number of fatal accidents showed slight decreases in 2025, a lack of alertness remains the primary contributing factor in many cases.
Spiritual Vigilance
The Bible exhorts us to be alert, to keep watch, and to stand firm in the faith in the face of spiritual dangers and the coming of the Lord, emphasizing the need for courage and constant prayer (1 Corinthians 16:13; 1 Peter 5:8). These verses encourage us to maintain active vigilance over our spiritual lives and conduct.
Dear Brother, do not forget that God loves you. Hey—listen closely—GOD LOVES YOU. Therefore, knowing that we live in a world filled with conflict, weeping, and pain, He tells us in His Word—1 Corinthians 16:13: "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous and strong" (NIV).
And He continues to tell us in Mark 13:33: "Be on guard and stay alert, for you do not know when that time will come" (NBV). In Matthew 24:42: "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on which day your Lord will come" (RVR1960). In Ephesians 6:18: "be alert and always keep on Praying for all the Lord’s peoples..."
Being alert is also associated with maintaining peace and doing good, while resisting temptation. Furthermore, there is a divine promise for His children: Psalm 89:22-23 promises that the enemy will neither surprise nor crush the believer who is under God's protection, and that He Himself will crush their adversaries.
Call to Action
Join the Prayer Army today! Let us put on our spiritual armor; let us clothe ourselves in truth, righteousness, the Gospel, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, so that we may stand firm against the wiles of the Devil. We will overcome it through submission and faith, just as James 4:7 declares.
The strategy is to remain close to God, to know His Word, and to stay spiritually alert so that the enemy does not catch the Christian off guard. To this end, we are preparing our prayer room, which we will call GAP. (This will be a prayer room, open permanently to the entire church and the community—I will explain this in greater detail later.) And in this way, we remain vigilant to destroy all anxiety, all stress, all depression, and every force of evil. Amen.
Manténgase Alerta
Querido hermano lector, hablar de crisis mundial, ya no suena como una noticia relevante, sabemos que nos ha tocado un momento de la historia donde el enemigo ataca de una manera mas sutil y sorprendente. Es por ello por lo que ahora más que nunca debemos desarrollar nuestros sensores espirituales para ver más allá de la curva. 1 Pedro 5:8-9 exhorta a ser sobrios y estar alerta, porque el enemigo, el diablo, ronda como león rugiente buscando a quien devorar. La Biblia advierte que no debemos ignorar las maquinaciones del diablo para que no tome ventaja sobre nosotros (2 Corintios 2:11).
1 Pedro 4:12 aconseja no sorprenderse por el "fuego de prueba" que viene para probar la fe, como si fuera algo extraño, sino regocijarse en los padecimientos de Cristo.
La Importancia de Estar Alerta

Vigilancia Espiritual
La Biblia exhorta a estar alerta, vigilar y permanecer firmes en la fe ante los peligros espirituales y la venida del Señor, destacando la necesidad de valentía y oración constante (1 Corintios 16:13, 1 Pedro 5:8). Estos versículos animan a mantener una vigilancia activa sobre nuestra vida espiritual y conducta.
Querido Hermano no olvides que Dios te ama. Hey escúchalo bien, DIOS TE AMA. Por ello al saber que estamos en medio de un mundo lleno de conflictos, llanto y dolor él nos dice en su palabra 1 Corintios 16:13: "Manténganse alerta; permanezcan firmes en la fe; sean valientes y fuertes" (NVI).
Y nos continúa diciendo en Marcos 13:33: "Tengan cuidado y estén siempre alertas, pues no saben cuándo llegará ese tiempo" (NBV). En Mateo 24:42: "Por tanto, velad, porque no sabéis en qué día vendrá vuestro Señor" (RVR1960). En Efesios 6:18: "Orando en todo tiempo con toda oración y súplica en el Espíritu, y velando en ello con toda perseverancia y súplica por todos los santos" (RVR1960).
Estar alerta también se asocia con mantener la paz y hacer el bien, resistiendo la tentación. Y hay una promesa divina para sus hijos, en el Salmo 89:22-23 promete que el enemigo no sorprenderá ni quebrantará al creyente bajo la protección de Dios, y que el quebrantará a los adversarios.
Llamado a la Acción
Únase hoy al Ejército de Oración, vamos a ponernos la armadura espiritual vamos a revestirnos de la verdad, justicia, evangelio, fe, salvación y la palabra de Dios, para estar firmes contra las insidias del Diablo. Vamos a vencer mediante la sumisión y la Fe como dice Santigo 4:7
la estrategia es mantenerse cerca de Dios, conocer su Palabra y estar espiritualmente despiertos para que el enemigo no tome por sorpresa al cristiano. Y para ello estamos preparando nuestro salón de oración que llamaremos GAP (esto será un salón de oración abierto para toda la iglesia y la comunidad de manera permanente) (en lo adelante explicare con más detalle). Y así mantenernos alertas para destruir toda ansiedad, todo estrés, toda depresión y toda fuerza del mal. Amen.
