Sharing Our Faith
PASTORAL HEART

When we talk about sharing our faith, we're talking about something biblical and sacred. The Lord commands us to tell others what He has done in our hearts.
It's been almost four months since I began my journey as Pastor of our church. During these months, if you've noticed, I've done nothing but speak to your heart. Yes, to the heart — because God sees the heart. The experiences we've had in these four months have been wonderful. We have been challenged by the Holy Spirit to keep moving forward, looking to the cross of Christ, and to renew our spirits from deep within our hearts. We have been prompted to begin showing the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
A church must strengthen its pillars to withstand the attacks of the enemy and keep moving forward. The five important functions of a healthy Christian church are worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism. These core pillars guide how a church community gathers, grows, and serves others.
The experience during times of worship has been edifying. Praising God together through prayer, music, and celebrating faith is evident. We have been learning and teaching the Bible to grow strong in spiritual maturity. Step by step, we continue building a loving, supportive community and sharing life together.
The time has come to help and serve people in practical ways within the church and local area. What I want to focus on is the challenging part that lies ahead: sharing the message of Jesus and inviting new people into the church. This should be a direct result of what God is doing in our lives.
The church's missions team (HMT) is already being organized. Today, we invite the church to be part of the work plan that our brother John Terry will lead. With the Lord's help, he will coordinate the "Jesus Encounter Groups" — a small group of two or three to share God's word each week.
The Biblical Mandate — We Were Commanded to Go
The Bible contains numerous passages that encourage us to share God's message both relationally and through service. We have the direct mandate — the Great Commission:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
— Matthew 28:19-20
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."
— Mark 16:15
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
— Acts 1:8
Sharing Through Good Deeds
"Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
— Matthew 5:16
"Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us."
— 1 Peter 2:12
Prepared and Ready
God is calling you to training so that you can have the right preparation and attitude:
"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."
— 1 Peter 3:15
"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
— Colossians 4:5-6
The time has come to share His word, as Romans 10:14 reminds us:
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"
It is time to share and pray for this beautiful purpose of spreading His word in our neighborhood. As Psalm 105:1 says:
"Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done."
Practical Ways to Share Your Faith Every Day
We can share our faith in practical ways by telling our personal testimony, doing good deeds, and praying for others. These actions allow us to convey a message of love and respect simply.
🗣️ Tell your story.
Just talk about how God has changed your life and given you peace during difficult times.
🤲 Serve your neighbors.
Help through acts of kindness and selfless service that reflect your values.
🙏 Pray for others.
Pray for the needs of your friends and family, and for opportunities to speak about God.
👂 Listen without judging.
Pay attention to others' doubts and feelings without judgment. Share your faith with humility, without imposing ideas or looking for arguments.
The Greatest Challenge — Sharing Faith With Family
Sharing the Gospel with family is often one of the greatest challenges because they know our imperfections. Here, your testimony is based not on speeches, but on consistency and love.
Instead of assuming what your family members believe, take the time to understand their own doubts, hurts, or past spiritual experiences. Listening heals relationships and opens doors.
The way you react to everyday problems, your patience, and your humility in asking for forgiveness when you make a mistake will speak much louder than any theological debate. Do not try to "correct" them or turn every conversation into a debate. Respect their journeys, knowing that faith is a path that takes time.
Invite them to your home for dinner on special occasions or just on ordinary days. You can use those moments to share a brief prayer of thanksgiving for the meal or play music that uplifts the atmosphere.
Faith in Everyday Settings
When you are in everyday settings — such as a line, a coffee shop, or a gas station — practice intentional kindness. Leave a generous tip, smile, and if you notice someone going through a hard time, offer a genuine word of encouragement or respectfully ask: "May I pray for you today?"
Offer help in practical areas — such as free tutoring for children, reading workshops, or seminars on finances and résumé writing — at community centers. This demonstrates God's love in a useful and tangible way. Those who have walked this path with their loved ones often discover that listening is a gamechanger.
Why Evangelism Is Not Optional
Evangelism is a fundamental pillar of the church because it fulfills its purpose for existing, ensures its growth, and reflects God's loving character toward the world. Without evangelism, the church becomes an insular social club rather than a beacon of hope.
Evangelism is not optional — it is an act of obedience to Jesus' command. It is not merely a suggestion; before ascending to heaven, Jesus' final instruction to His disciples was to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). The church did not invent evangelism; evangelism is the direct command that gave rise to the church and its mission on earth.
A church that does not evangelize is only one generation away from disappearing.
By reaching people from diverse backgrounds, professions, and cultures, the church is enriched and better reflects the universality of the body of Christ. For the believer, the Gospel is the answer to emptiness, guilt, and separation from God. Keeping that message a secret is considered a lack of love for one's neighbor.
Biblical evangelism almost always goes hand in hand with social service, following the example of Jesus, who healed bodies while saving souls. When church members share their faith, they are compelled to study, pray, and rely more on God.
Let us avoid stagnation: a church focused solely on itself often falls prey to internal divisions or legalism. Evangelism directs the congregation's energy outward — toward others.

Compartiendo Nuestra Fe
CORAZÓN PASTORAL

Cuando hablamos de compartir nuestra fe, nos referimos a algo bíblico y sagrado. El Señor nos manda contar a los demás lo que Él ha hecho en nuestros corazones.
Han pasado casi cuatro meses desde que comencé mi camino como pastor de nuestra iglesia. Durante estos meses, si se han dado cuenta, no he hecho más que hablarles al corazón. Sí, al corazón — porque Dios mira el corazón. Las experiencias que hemos vivido en estos cuatro meses han sido maravillosas. El Espíritu Santo nos ha desafiado a seguir adelante, con la mirada puesta en la cruz de Cristo, y a renovar nuestro espíritu desde lo más profundo de nuestro corazón. Hemos sido impulsados a comenzar a mostrar los frutos del Espíritu Santo.
Una iglesia debe fortalecer sus pilares para resistir los ataques del enemigo y seguir avanzando. Las cinco funciones importantes de una iglesia cristiana saludable son la adoración, el discipulado, la comunión, el ministerio y la evangelización. Estos pilares fundamentales guían la forma en que una comunidad eclesiástica se reúne, crece y sirve a los demás.
La experiencia durante los momentos de adoración ha sido edificante. Es evidente la alabanza a Dios en unidad a través de la oración, la música y la celebración de la fe. Hemos estado aprendiendo y enseñando la Biblia para fortalecernos en madurez espiritual. Paso a paso, seguimos construyendo una comunidad amorosa y solidaria, compartiendo la vida juntos.
Ha llegado el momento de ayudar y servir a las personas de manera práctica, tanto dentro de la iglesia como en nuestra localidad. Quiero centrarme en el desafío que tenemos por delante: compartir el mensaje de Jesús e invitar a nuevas personas a la iglesia. Esto debería ser una consecuencia directa de lo que Dios está haciendo en nuestras vidas.
El equipo de misiones de la iglesia (HMT) ya se está organizando. Hoy invitamos a la iglesia a formar parte del plan de trabajo que liderará nuestro hermano John Terry. Con la ayuda del Señor, él coordinará los "Grupos de Encuentro con Jesús" — un grupo pequeño de dos o tres personas para compartir la Palabra de Dios cada semana.
El Mandato Bíblico — Fuimos Enviados a Ir
La Biblia contiene numerosos pasajes que nos animan a compartir el mensaje de Dios, tanto a través de las relaciones personales como mediante el servicio. Tenemos el mandato directo — la Gran Comisión:
«Por tanto, vayan y hagan discípulos de todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, y enseñándoles a obedecer todo lo que les he mandado.»
— Mateo 28:19-20
«Vayan por todo el mundo y prediquen el evangelio a toda la creación.»
— Marcos 16:15
«Pero recibirán poder cuando el Espíritu Santo venga sobre ustedes; y serán mis testigos en Jerusalén, en toda Judea y Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra.»
— Hechos 1:8
Compartir a Través de las Buenas Obras
«Que brille de tal manera la luz de ustedes delante de los demás, que vean sus buenas obras y glorifiquen a su Padre que está en los cielos.»
— Mateo 5:16
«Mantengan entre los paganos una conducta tan ejemplar que, aunque los acusen de hacer el mal, ellos vean sus buenas obras y glorifiquen a Dios en el día en que él nos visite.»
— 1 Pedro 2:12
Preparados y Listos
Dios te llama a capacitarte para que tengas la preparación y la actitud adecuadas:
«Más bien, honren en sus corazones a Cristo como Señor. Estén siempre preparados para responder a todo el que les pida razón de la esperanza que hay en ustedes. Pero háganlo con mansedumbre y respeto.»
— 1 Pedro 3:15
«Compórtense sabiamente con los que no son creyentes; aprovechen bien cada oportunidad. Que su conversación sea siempre agradable y sazonada con sal, para que sepan cómo responder a cada persona.»
— Colosenses 4:5-6
Ha llegado el momento de compartir su palabra, como dice Romanos 10:14:
«¿Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en quien no han creído? ¿Y cómo creerán en aquel de quien no han oído? ¿Y cómo oirán si nadie les predica?»
Es tiempo de compartir y orar por este hermoso propósito de difundir su palabra en nuestro vecindario. Como dice el Salmo 105:1:
«¡Alaben al Señor, proclamen su nombre; den a conocer entre las naciones sus obras!»
Maneras Prácticas de Compartir tu Fe Cada Día
Podemos compartir nuestra fe de manera práctica contando nuestro testimonio personal, realizando buenas obras y orando por los demás. Estas acciones nos permiten transmitir un mensaje de amor y respeto con sencillez.
🗣️ Cuenta tu historia.
Simplemente habla de cómo Dios ha transformado tu vida y te ha dado paz en los momentos difíciles.
🤲 Sirve a tus vecinos.
Ayuda mediante actos de bondad y servicio desinteresado que reflejen tus valores.
🙏 Ora por los demás.
Ora por las necesidades de tus amigos y familiares, y por tener oportunidades de hablar de Dios.
👂 Escucha sin juzgar.
Presta atención a las dudas y sentimientos de los demás sin juzgarlos. Comparte tu fe con humildad, sin imponer ideas ni buscar discusiones.
El Mayor Desafío — Compartir la Fe con la Familia
Compartir el Evangelio con la familia suele ser uno de los mayores desafíos, ya que ellos conocen nuestras imperfecciones. En este caso, tu testimonio no se basa en discursos, sino en la coherencia y el amor.
En lugar de asumir lo que creen tus familiares, tómate el tiempo de comprender sus dudas, heridas o experiencias espirituales pasadas. Escuchar sana las relaciones y abre puertas.
Tu forma de reaccionar ante los problemas cotidianos, tu paciencia y tu humildad al pedir perdón cuando te equivocas hablarán mucho más fuerte que cualquier debate teológico. No intentes "corregirlos" ni conviertas cada conversación en una discusión. Respeta sus procesos, sabiendo que la fe es un camino que requiere tiempo.
Invítalos a cenar a tu casa en ocasiones especiales o simplemente en días cotidianos. Puedes aprovechar esos momentos para compartir una breve oración de agradecimiento por los alimentos o poner música que cree un ambiente agradable.
La Fe en el Día a Día
Cuando te encuentres en situaciones cotidianas — como haciendo fila, en una cafetería o en una gasolinera — practica la amabilidad intencional. Deja una propina generosa, sonríe y, si notas que alguien atraviesa un momento difícil, ofrece una palabra sincera de ánimo o pregunta respetuosamente: «¿Puedo orar por ti hoy?»
Ofrece ayuda en aspectos prácticos — como clases de apoyo escolar gratuitas, talleres de lectura o seminarios sobre finanzas y redacción de currículums — en centros comunitarios. Esto demuestra el amor de Dios de una manera útil y tangible. Quienes han recorrido este camino con sus seres queridos suelen descubrir que saber escuchar marca una gran diferencia.
Por Qué la Evangelización No Es Opcional
La evangelización es un pilar fundamental de la iglesia porque cumple su propósito de existir, asegura su crecimiento y refleja el carácter amoroso de Dios hacia el mundo. Sin evangelización, la iglesia se convierte en un club social aislado en lugar de ser un faro de esperanza.
La evangelización no es opcional — es un acto de obediencia al mandato de Jesús. No es meramente una sugerencia; antes de ascender al cielo, la instrucción final de Jesús a sus discípulos fue que fueran y hicieran discípulos de todas las naciones (Mateo 28:19). La iglesia no inventó la evangelización; esta es el mandato directo que dio origen a la iglesia y a su misión en la tierra.
Una iglesia que no evangeliza está a solo una generación de desaparecer.
Al llegar a personas de diversos orígenes, profesiones y culturas, la iglesia se enriquece y refleja mejor la universalidad del cuerpo de Cristo. Para el creyente, el Evangelio es la respuesta al vacío, a la culpa y a la separación de Dios. Guardar ese mensaje en secreto se considera una falta de amor al prójimo.
La evangelización bíblica casi siempre va de la mano del servicio social, siguiendo el ejemplo de Jesús, quien sanaba cuerpos mientras salvaba almas. Cuando los miembros de la iglesia comparten su fe, se ven impulsados a estudiar, orar y depender más de Dios.
Evitemos el estancamiento: una iglesia centrada únicamente en sí misma a menudo cae presa de divisiones internas o del legalismo. La evangelización dirige la energía de la congregación hacia afuera — hacia los demás.
